Set Custom Transaction Fee in MetaMask: Quickguide
You can very easily set your maximum transaction fee by following these easy steps:
- When you decide to purchase something or are going to proceed with a transaction you are given a window that looks like this
Clearly, you can set transaction speeds to low, medium, or high. However, if you are less concerned with speed and more with cost, click Advanced Options.
2.You will see your estimated fee as shown below. Click edit.
3. Here you will see your option for Max fee as I have highlighted below.
4. Just type in the amount of GWEI that you are willing to spend for this transaction in the box. I set my Max to 80 gwei, which is currently $94.
Click Save and that’s it!
The time it takes to complete your transaction will depend on the network demand in comparison to the limit that you set. In high-traffic times, the transaction may take several hours. If time is not a concern, you can just set it and forget it 👌
